Founded in 1894, The Field Museum is one of the world's great museums of science, environment and culture. Sue
For 67 million years Sue lay buried within the Black Hills of South Dakota, until she was discovered in 1990. The restored and mounted skeleton of this magnificent creature - the largest and most complete T. rex ever found - resides in her new home at The Field Museum.

Are dinosaurs the biggest animals that ever lived? Here's where you can find out! Fossils of all shapes and sizes tell the story of evolution and extinction. Trek through time to trace 3.8 billion years of life on Earth.

Africa
Experience a true sense of Africa and its cultural, geographical, political and social diversity. Visitors travel to Senegal, visit a royal Cameroon palace and see some of Africa's great savanna wildlife.

What is an Animal?
From a 40-foot squid to a microscopic head louse, you'll meet a multitude of unlikely - as well as more familiar - animals throughout this exhibit.

Native American Halls
With over 287,000 artifacts, our Native American collections rank among the top in the nation. In our exhibition halls, over 14,000 artifacts tell fascinating cultural stories.

Harris Educational Loan Center
Borrow hands-on activity boxes, slides, videos and other educational materials to use with your class or youth group.

Education Programs
